When content is copied, one of the first questions is: what can you show about the original work?
Keep the original source file
Preserve the highest-quality original file you have. For edited content, keep useful project or export files when practical.
Save the first publication location
Keep the original post, page or upload URL when one exists.
Record the rights owner
Be precise about whether the rights belong to you, your company, a client, an employer or another party.
Use file fingerprints as supporting evidence
A SHA-256 value can help link a stored record to a specific file version, but a hash is not proof of copyright ownership by itself.
